Where Do Your Thoughts Go When You Neglect Them?

Of the 70,000 thoughts that we have daily I think I had at least that many trying to find a blog title that wasn’t already taken.  It seemed as though every name that I tried was already being used by another user.  No special characters allowed, which led to the addition of numbers and I’ve settled on staytuned66.  At least until I think myself out of it and into something else.

Like most of you I am on thought overload.  I spend some of my time writing, but I still feel that there are too many thoughts floating around my conscious mind waiting to be fertilized and eventually bloom into something more.  You see this is my greatest and only fear in life, not allowing my thoughts to leave my mind and enter and inspire another’s.  Or at least enter and be laughed at by another.  Les Brown is one of my favorite motivational speakers, and he once said this:

“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry our their dream.”

So what dreams, what ideas are you ignoring?

Understanding just how fragile life is keeps me focused and motivated in life.  If I have an idea or a thought that comes to mind, I act on it.  For as long as I can remember I would tell myself that I don’t want to get to a point in my life where I know it’s coming to an end and say I wish I did this or I wish I did that.  I’ve met people who have worked most of their life at a job that wasn’t fulfilling, but they would constantly talk themselves out of doing whatever it was they were passionate about. Now they have to reflect and deal with the fact that the time of yesterday is used up.  I strongly believe that this is one of the most difficult things someone has to cope with in their life.

So, back to this blog thing.  I must say I feel better already having shared what I did. I’m still trying to figure out how some people have such fancy looking pages, but this template will work for now. As for the name staytuned66, its made up from a couple of things in my life.  The 66 is a number that seems to appear when I am most balanced in my life.  Stay tuned comes from a recent experience when I sent a letter to the President of the University I am graduating from, and in it I shared some of my experiences as a non-traditional student (stay tuned for that story).  I ended my letter telling her to Stay Tuned, because this wouldn’t be the last time that she would hear from me.

I have dreams and ideas that I cannot and will not ignore.  Hopefully you’re not taking your thoughts for granted.

I highly encourage you to check out Les Brown.

Also, find him on YouTube and feel his burning passion for life and wanting people to reach their greatest potential.

Don’t wish you did anything, just do it, because tomorrow isn’t promised.

LOVE yourself and

Stay Tuned

  1. What a great first post, one I totally resonate with. Seems we think very much alike. I’m very much about living the best life we can with no regrets. Happy blogging and cheers from Australia. 🙂
