How to Deal With the Distractions of Life, Especially the Greatest Distraction of All

Life can be one big distraction if we allow it to be. We can’t wake up in the morning without being distracted by something. Many of us wake up and the first thing we do is reach for our cell phone. Our minds become consumed with the thoughts of the world. Some relevant to our well being, most not. So what can we do?

ACCEPT THAT LIFE IS ONE GREAT DISTRACTION

Whether it’s our phones, the television, money, family or friends we can become so distracted that our lives will literally pass us by without us realizing where the time has gone. We will wake up in the morning and become distracted, drive to work distracted, or sit at home completely oblivious that we are wasting time looking in directions that won’t allow us to grow.

Life can be chaotic. Accept it and don’t allow it to attach it’s anchors to you.

LIFES BIGGEST DISTRACTION, IF WE ALLOW IT TO BE, WILL ALWAYS BE MONEY

We worry so much about money that we run in circles trying to earn enough without ever getting ahead. We take jobs we can’t stand and we tell ourselves that we’ll do what we want to do “next year.” Sometimes next year never comes.

Chasing money becomes a vicious cycle when we don’t understand it. We focus on not having enough which only leads to not having enough! Money comes and goes, yet we all find ourselves worrying about when it will come again. It’s one of the most frustrating things we all deal with, and as much as we complain about it it’s still relevant in all of our lives.

So what do we do? We can’t completely ignore the idea of it, or can we? This it the tricky part. We need money and it needs us. We need to be sure that our focus is on obtaining it more than not having enough of it. It’s simple. We get what we most think about. The answer, we need to stop worrying and believe more than anything that everything in our lives will be freaking amazing!

How I accomplish every goal using these 3 simple ideas

LIVE FEARLESSLY

This is a challenge for all of us. It can be scary having more bills than money to pay them. But we need to first understand that our current situation is our own doing. Yes, some of us fell into the trap of living larger than we can afford. And the rest of us want that life, and will eventually fall into that same trap if we don’t realize what we are doing.

Whether we feel trapped by money or not we should never limit what we’re capable of. I’m not suggesting that we quit our job to take that dream vacation, at least not yet anyway. We can begin by taking baby steps.NelsonMandela Start by unhooking the anchor and breathing again. Miss a day of work just because and do something  that is good for the soul. We can retrain our brain to stop thinking we are a slave to money and instead that money is our slave. It’s possible. And it’s really simple, actually, but we need to release the fear and just do something, anything, differently!

Life is full of distractions, but that doesn’t mean we all need to be distracted. Self-awareness is important in our lives, especially living in a time where distractions are abundant. We can all live lives that we can be OK with. Lives without regret, but we must first take back control. It’s possible. Believe in yourself as much as you believe in anything else and you will certainly feel at peace.

If It Doesn't Excite Us We're Probably Doing Something Wrong

I’ve mentioned a lot that the majority of us are going to jobs that don’t excite us. We get up and go through the same morning routines, we take the same commute into work, and we have the same conversations with the same people day after day after day. I could never do that. In fact most of us can’t, but we settle believing that whatever our current situation is all that we can experience.

BEWARE AT 25 AND OLDER

Around this time in our lives most of us are settling into a “career.” 25_75College is behind us and the excitement of learning a new job has slowly sizzled away. For some of us the routine begins and we begin going through the motions without any sense of satisfaction. We overspend on unnecessary things, homes, decorations, cars, electronics, etc. Most of the time borrowing money from banks, aka credit cards, and we eventually accumulate so much debt and we’re forced to work jobs that don’t excite us so that we can pay back that debt. Capitalism at it’s finest.

WE ARE ALL STRONGER THAN THE WORLD TRICKS US INTO BELIEVING

When I feel comfortable I become bored. I crave new challenges and experiences. All of us do, but we’ve trained ourselves to ignore those cravings and accept that this is just the way life is. <<<Insert bullhorn here>>> WRONG! We all have life shit that we deal with. We all have bills, relationship problems, or anything else that tries slowing us down. It doesn’t mean we should become a slave to these things sacrificing the one thing that matters most, which is our own well-being.

THE MORE RIDICULOUS IT SOUNDS THE MORE WE SHOULD DO IT

It’s easy to talk ourselves out of idea because of how insane it may sound. We find ways to tell ourselves that it’s unrealistic. Or that it would just never work. Those feelings are called being scared. Being scared of stepping out of our comfort zone, and they are perfectly normal. Those feelings are my signal that I am doing what I am supposed to be doing.

Screen Shot 2017-05-09 at 12.18.45 AM

This summer I have something huge planned (I’ll blog about it in the coming weeks, or connect with me on Instagram for updates). I could think of a million reasons why I shouldn’t do it, but the one most important reason why I should is what will force me to make it a reality. I decided a long time ago that I would always do whatever I wanted to do no matter how crazy it may seem, because I never want to experience regret at the end of my life.

WHAT’S SOMETHNG CRAZY THAT YOU WANTED TO DO, BUT TALKED YOURSELF OUT OF DOING?

Why Having too Many Great Ideas Could be a Bad Idea

If you’re like most people at one time in your life you’ve had what you believed to be a great idea. A few great ideas later and that original idea sits collecting dust while slowly being forgotten. It’s normal for our minds to wander in different directions. The thoughts and ideas that last are the ones that we give the most attention too.

Our brains are powerful. The more we do anything the easier it becomes. If I told you to make a fist you could do it almost without even thinking about it. But ask a toddler to to do the same thing and the response is slower, if any at all. The reason is simple. We’ve developed solid pathways in the part of the brain responsible for opening and closing our hands.

STOP WASTING GREAT IDEAS

The same can be true for those great ideas that we have. The problem for most of us is that we never see what may become from those them. We don’t allow ourselves to create that strong foundation, because we become distracted with the next best idea.

How I Accomplish Every Goal Using These 3 Ideas

I’m as guilty as anyone. For years I’ve wanted to write a book. Times I would begin, but I always became distracted with by my thoughts putting my great idea on hold once again. It seems like every week I would have a new idea leaving the last to either die or collect dust until I decided to revisit it.

ACKNOWLEDGE THE DISTRACTIONS

Having new ideas isn’t necessarily always a bad thing, but we need to learn how to filter through these them and pounce on the ones that could be life changing. It’s important to acknowledge ideas as they arise,
Distractions1but we need to be careful that they don’t distract us from where we want to go.

Sometimes new ideas arise from things that we are already working on. That’s a good thing, but we need to be careful that our energy isn’t spread so thin across the board that what we’re originally working on loses momentum. This is where it gets tricky, because sometimes we don’t realize that we’re doing it.

IT’S TIME TO GET SHIT DONE

Today, my book is about 99% complete. I am polishing it up, so that it shines. I did most of the work in about four months, because I refused to allow myself to become distracted until it was completed. Along the way I had a lot of ideas that arose. I didn’t ignore them. I wrote them down and thought about them, but I didn’t allow them to distract me. Some will be what I focus on next.

I had clear vision and a clearer plan

I’m fortunate to live in a way that I’ll never have any regrets. I learn from everything in my life. LesBrownI may make myself a little crazy at times, but I’m confident that when I take my final breath (many, many years from now 🙂 ) I will rest easy.

There isn’t any reason all of us can’t achieve our own goals. Great ideas are meant to be acted upon or else we’ll risk them dying with us. We are all capable of doing great things, but we need to focus more on accomplishing them and less on the distractions that surround us.

DO YOU EVER FIND YOURSELF LOSING FOCUS, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TOO MANY GREAT IDEAS?

What to Write About When We (think) We Have Nothing to Write About ~ Must Read for All Bloggers

Sometimes we find ourselves overthinking what we should write about. We want to write, but nothing seems to be coming to my mind. Now we’re getting a little frustrated, because we know we need to write and share something for our readers to hopefully benefit from. Eventually we either write nothing at all or we try to force out content. Both bad ideas.

So how can we overcome our writers block and be consistent with our writing?

BREATHE. RELAX. BREATHE SOME MORE. AND TRY RELAXING EVEN MORE

The idea that we can’t think of something to write about is a bit absurd. Why? Because we have up to 70,000 thoughts per day! If we can’t take one of those thoughts and elaborate on it there is something that we’re missing. Chances are we are overthinking ourselves out of creating any type of content. There is a writer in all of us, but sadly many of us never allow our thoughts to leave our cluttered minds and enter a space where they can help, motivate or inspire someone else.

First, we need to learn how to relax before attempting anything. Writing is different for all of us. Fun for some, therapeutic for others. But if we can’t step back and breath we may lose out on the possible benefits of writing altogether. Writing should never be stressful. If we find ourselves feeling annoyed or out of balance we should take a step back, put down the pen or close the laptop before attempting to write.

Our best content will always come from a clear and focused mind.

BE REALISTIC:  IT’S OK TO BE A PERFECTIONIST AS LONG AS IT ISN’T PREVENTING US FROM BEING AWESOME

I’m the biggest perfectionist I know. And I also know that I’m not alone. I’ve heard of other writers never getting a though on paper because they expect their first draft to be a masterpiece. They have ideas, but those ideas become clouded by thoughts of what if’s -like what if it’s not good enough.

With 70,000 thoughts per day we have no shortage of what to write about, but we overthink ourselves out of writing anything at all. Sounds ridiculous when we think about it, but we all do it. We blog because we enjoy writing, so that is what we need to focus our attention on doing.

The content that is most accepted by other people is content that is raw and from the heart.

As readers and writers we know when something sounds organic versus something that is forced. It’s important for us to remember that our writing will never be for everyone. It’s even more important that we accept and be OK with that.

HAVE FUN. SERIOUSLY LIFE IS TOO SHORT NOT TOO

Writing to the brain is like getting an oil change for our car. There are only so many thoughts the brain can filter through before the body begins to slow down. Document, create, share life events, whatever, we just need to write. Writing_Blog

There is a community of people who can benefit from our writing, and we too, can benefit from them. We need to get out of our heads and take charge of our lives. Whatever we are feeling at any given moment, whether it be a child, pet, or a life changing event, writing about it will benefit everyone involved. The writer and the reader, so we cant’t hold back anymore.

We need to take control of our minds and write!

Why Hating Money May Be the Reason We Never Have Enough

Money, for most of us we spend our lives chasing it. Sometimes we get close, but it’s just out of our grasp. If we catch up to it it never seems to be enough. And for some of us we despise it. We blame it for the worlds problems and we’re angry at the people who have it.

Love it or hate it money is a necessity of life. We can’t live without having some sort of income coming our way. There are ways we can minimize our need, but it’s still necessary. Some of us spend more than we make. We borrow from banks, also known as credit cards, and we spend our lives trying to earn enough money to pay back those financial debts.

MONEY COMES AND GOES

We get in life what we focus most upon. If we’re constantly worrying about not having money, more financial difficulties will continue to plague our lives. There could be times that our finances seem to be in order, and others where it seems we can never catch up. Not having money today doesn’t need to be permanent. It’s important not to focus on the things that we don’t have, but instead too remain focused on what it is we want.

The trick to permanently moving away from financial difficulties is too ignore the stress that naturally comes along with not having enough money to pay our bills. Easier said than done I know, but it’s not impossible. When we look back and remember times we worried about not having money to pay a bill we can see that those bills were still paid. They may have been paid late, but they were paid. We need to ask ourselves, was it worth the worry?

LOVE MONEY AND THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE IT

We begin to despise things in life usually because we believe we can’t have them. Money is no different. We lack it and blame it for our problems. We see people who have it as the enemy as they flaunt the money and things that they have. We wish we lived in a world where money didn’t matter. But it does. And it always will. We have two options.

We can continue to fight it and never have enough or we can learn to love it in a healthy way.

When we drive my someone in their Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, we shouldn’t get angry or assume that they’re showing off. We need to get excited! Excited because we aren’t any different than that person and we too can have whatever we want. We need to accept money as a part of our lives and appreciate others who understand how to obtain it.

ASK FOR WHAT YOU WANT

It all begins with where we most focus our thoughts and emotions. The latter being more important. If we constantly worry we will attract more of that emotional experience into our lives. If we can learn to get excited about having money, even when we don’t have it, money will begin to flow towards us.

No amount of money that we desire is unrealistic.

First we need to decide how much money we want. Once we have a number we need to tell ourselves what we’re going to do to get that money. We can’t just ask for one million dollars and expect to get it without offering anything in return. For example, I want $1,000,000 and in return I will publish a book that will teach people how to live a happy life. There always needs to be an even tradeoff.

How I Accomplish Every Goal Using These 3 Simple Ideas

The power to believe is more important than anything. Wanting something and believing we will achieve it are two very different things. When we feel ourselves with the money in our possession it becomes real. When we begin spending that money before we hold it the realness increases even more.

We can live lives never having to worry about money, but first we need to learn how to change what we focus our attention on. If we don’t believe the importance of being a money magnet we will continue to struggle financially. The way I see it is there’s nothing to lose by at least trying what was mentioned in this post. Money comes and goes, and our financial responsibilities will always be taken care one way or another. We need to trust that things will be ok and stop allowing money to cripple our happiness.

How to Get Up and Take What We Deserve. The Art of Getting Shit Done

I wish I could make more money. I hate my job. I should’ve went to college. I would’ve been good at doing this or that. If you say or have ever said any of these things or something close to it, keep reading.

We all want more out of life. Whether it’s money, success, or experiences there is something inside all of us that we crave. For most of us we leave that craving unsatisfied because we trick ourselves into believing that it is not possible. We grab onto the first excuse that arises in our mind and we run with it. We run so fast and so far that before we know it our time on this planet is coming to an end.

THE ART OF GETTING SHIT DONE

  • Understand that time runs our lives
  • Accountability
    • Write down what we crave
    • Set a reasonable deadline
    • Plan how we’ll get there
  • Satisfy our cravings or die of starvation

UNDERSTAND THAT TIME RUNS OUR LIVES

I value time as much as I value my own life. Forget the theories about whether time is linear or not, because here on planet earth our lives revolve around it. We can not function without it. Alarm clocks ring at a certain time. Bosses expect us at a job at a certain time. Job ends, we eat dinner, we watch our favorite television shows, and we sleep all at a certain time. We get 86,400 seconds in a day. How we spend our time is directly related to our personal level of happiness.

Reality check: If you’re one of the people who spend at least 5 hours of your day watching television I can guarantee that you will die hungry.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Just thinking about what we want isn’t enough. We need to practice ways to hold ourselves accountable.

  • Write down what we crave – Doing so reminds us of what we’re trying to achieve. But there’s more to it. We need to write it and keep it in a place that we won’t over look it. I painted a chalkboard on the wall in my living room. It’s hard for me to miss. We need to read our goal to ourselves out loud and imagine what it will feel like once we obtain it. First thing in the morning and again before we go to sleep is a good start. Doing so we are programming our mind to believe that it is possible.

  • Set a reasonable deadline – It’s important to hold ourselves accountable by setting a date we want to achieve our goals. When we read our goal we need to be sure to tell ourselves when we want it by. If school or a job sets a deadline for a project to be completed, we make sure that it’s completed by that date. We need to hold our own satisfaction to just as high of a standard. Setting a deadline allows us to think about it more often. It’s okay to become obsessed with satisfying our cravings. We all deserve to be happy.

  • Plan how we’ll get there – Every good idea has an equally good plan. We can start by taking baby steps. The more we think about making our dreams a reality the more ideas that will begin to come to us. If there’s a dream vacation we’ve been talking ourselves out of maybe we can start by looking up costs. When we know the cost we can plan on how to save for the trip and how to work it into our schedule.

How I accomplish every goal using these 3 simple steps

SATISFY OUR CRAVINGS OR DIE HUNGRY

Blog_ShitIt’s very simple. If we don’t eat we die. The same is true for the human spirit. If we don’t feed our cravings it too will die. Benjamin Franklin said it best, “Most people die at 25, and aren’t buried until they’re 75.” We give up and lose hope. We accept everything that we’ve been taught up until that point and become comfortable. We ignore the things that will most satisfy us because we believe the fantasy in our minds that it’s not possible.

Reality check #2: Everything is possible! Impossible only exists with the limits we allow our minds to believe.

We are capable of great things, but we allow ourselves to become so distracted and tangled in the world around us that we forget we are a unique human being. Life happens as time passes us by and we stop believing that we deserve and can have more for ourselves. We worry more about things that don’t matter and less about our own happiness. Life is so ridiculously short, but most of us don’t realize this until we’re fighting for our last breaths.

Don’t let life bully you into believing you’re not worthy of all your dreams. Start today and do something that your future self will smile about. Don’t fear death. Instead accept that it’s a very real part of our being. Accept it, be OK with it, and allow it to help motivate you into satisfying all of your cravings. You deserve it!

Have you been ignoring any cravings, if so what do you think you can do differently?

How to Do What You Want to Do, or Don't – Thank You Life For the Confusion

Thank you evolution for giving us these super computers encased within our skull. In life our intelligence is the biggest thing that we need to overcome. We have 70,000 thoughts per day and we run around like ants or bees responding to the signals that surround us. We get lost in tunnels of thoughts. Each leading us further and further away from ever having any understanding of reality and our ability to do whatever it is we want to do.

WE ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT MATTER

It may sound selfish on the surface, but we need to put ourselves first. I spent years focusing on other peoples lack of motivation, and lack of self confidence. I want to get inside of their heads and scream, “Wake up!” Why can I see life with an open mind, and yet this person feels as if their life is crumbling from the inside out? Perception. We all see life as we choose to see it.

By focusing and wanting to help people believe in themselves as much as I did slowed down my growth. Sure I’m wiser for trying, but I was spending more of my energy trying to change someone’s perspective instead of focusing on my own perception of the situation. I became so caught up in the worlds problems, at least how I perceived them, and I was neglecting myself.

THE WORLD IS FULL OF HATE ~ VS ~ THE WORLD IS FULL OF LOVE

The world is whatever it is we choose to focus our attention on. There will always be good and bad in the world, love and hate, but what we choose to focus on only intensifies either of the two. If we believe the world is full of ugliness and evil we are only adding fuel to that fire. The same is true for LOVE.

Whichever triumphs is because we allowed the winner to prevail.

HOW TO GET OUT OF OUR HEAD

Like with any problem, the first step for solving it is realizing that there is a problem. For me I limit outside influences. I don’t live like a hermit, but I am selective who I let in. The opinions of other people that I allow to influence me are monitored carefully. You can say I am bit overprotective of myself, as we all should be. This doesn’t limit me from meeting people, But the difference is who I choose to keep close and who do I limit my interactions with.

Television, news, and magazines are some of our greatest influencers. I don’t watch much television and rarely watch the news. Remember evolution and 70,000 thoughts per day? Imagine how much of an influence TV actually has on what we perceive as true? Our conversations are based around fictional characters that we see on TV, or news reports that tell us how dangerous, sad, ugly, and hateful the world we live in really is.

The average American over the age of 2 spends more than 34 hours a week watching live television — plus another three to six hours watching taped programs.

DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO

Because we can. Because I do, and I’m not any different or better than anyone. We can do whatever it is we want to do. It doesn’t have to be some universally large idea. It could be taking off a day from work because that’s what we want to do. F*** it, just do it! It’s healthy to step out of a routine and reflect on how we’re spending our time. We don’t owe anybody anything in this life except for ourselves.

I’ve never been one to live by someone else’s rules. Especially rules that are put into place to consume our every thought, leading us deeper and deeper down tunnels of confusion before we become hopeless and stuck. We all have choices. Wherever we are right now, as we read this, is our choice. There is always a way as long as we remain hopeful and understand that we may not fully be in control of our lives at the present moment.

Are you doing everything that you want to do?

How to Not Give Up When It Feels Like Our Hard Work Isn't Paying Off

Another week passed and we’re still not where we want to be. We’re putting in the work, and countless hours so our dreams can become our reality, but it seems we are no closer today than we were when we first started. We ask ourselves if it’s worth it to continue and we think maybe it’s time to give up. We thought for sure it would happen by now, but nope.  Nothing. What should we do next?

FOCUS ON OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Its easy to focus on what we haven’t achieved. Instead we need to reflect on all that we have accomplished, and appreciate the journey. Sometimes this is easier said than done.  Even for me. When I first began blogging I didn’t understand what was involved. I thought make a blog and people will read it. So naive of me, I know.

Today, I’ve built some great relationships with bloggers as well as companies. I have offers to collaborate with large companies as a
brand ambassador and as a blog contributor.
I receive messages from people asking how they can do the things that I am doing.
I can go on, but the point is I have done a shitload of work and I have a lot that I can be proud of.

So do you. When it feels like things aren’t moving at a pace you think they should be, stop and reflect. And don’t give up! You’ve come too far to walk away from all of your hard work. Be patient and trust the process. You’re closer than you may think.

WE NEED TO WANT IT MORE THAN EVER

The longer the process takes the harder it is for us to stay motivated. When things don’t happen in a timely manner we get bored and sometimes walk away. But this is when we can separate ourselves from the pack. It’s do or die. Run and hide, or thrive.

The choice is always ours, but we need to want it so bad that we can’t live without it.

We need to find our reason to achieve whatever it is we’re chasing down. For me I can’t live without it. My life depends on it. I have built and continue to build a solid foundation, and to walk away from it would be plain stupid on my part. It’s hard, and sometimes I question what I’m doing. I ask myself daily, “What can I do better.”

How I accomplish every goal using these 3 simple steps

I’m not going to quit just because I don’t have all of the answers right now. I know that I will never have all of the answers in any area of life. I know that the most beautiful destinations come just after that period of time when the mind tries to mislead us into believing that the things we are doing aren’t working.

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”Thomas A. Edison

Life is short. Delicate and fragile. Our opportunities can be whatever we choose as long as we don’t allow our minds to negatively control the outcome. When things seem out of reach that’s usually when they are the closest. We all deserve to live the life we are passionate about. We all deserve to be happy, and our happiness is always dependent on one thing, Us.

Share the things that you’ve accomplished below. Does this help you realize that you’ve actually come further than you may have thought?

How To Start a Blog; Attract the Right Audience by Following These Steps

Have you been considering a blog, but feel it may be too much work? Do you think blogging is for professional writers only? Do you want to work your own hours and travel while blogging?
It may be easier than you think.

Making money while blogging is possible and it has given me the freedom and control of when and where I work.  You do not need to know how to write to begin writing.  There are millions of blog posts shared everyday.  The more you write the better you’ll become at doing it.The hardest part of starting a blog is knowing where to begin. I’ve detailed exactly what is needed so you can have your own blog today.

All that’s left is for you to follow these 6 simple steps and your blog will be up and running in less than 30 minutes.

  1. Find a niche
  2. Select a domain name
  3. Find a host
  4. Install a theme
  5. Write, write and write some more
  6. Have fun!
*I will guide you through the process FREE – email/chat*

STEP #1 FIND A NICHE

What will your blog be about? If you’re passionate about the outdoors you can blog about time spent in nature as well as products that relate to the outdoors. It’s important to stay within the niche you select. Having an outdoor related blog and writing about or offering beauty supplies will confuse your audience. Some outdoor enthusiasts will lose interest when you share non related information or products, and they may end up leaving.

STEP #2 SELECT A DOMAIN NAME

Finding a unique name for your blog is important, but doing so shouldn’t hold you back from starting. I spent months worrying about having the perfect name when I should’ve been focusing on sharing my content. Quality content will always supersede whatever name you come up with for yourself. Having content that your readers are interested in and being consistent is one way to help increase blog traffic.

Domain names are cheap and cost at most $11. Unless you host your site with Bluehost.  Keep reading

STEP #3 FIND A HOST

  • Bluehost is one of the most popular hosts for bloggers. There are others out there, but they rank amongst the best.
  • Located in the United States and provides excellent 24/7 customer service.
  • Fast page load times
  • FREE Domain name included
  • FREE site builder
  • 1 click WordPress installer
  • They are affordable!  Click the image below and start your blog for just $3.95 per month! Half off the regular price for being a valued reader.

STEP #4 INSTALL AN EYE CATCHING THEME

It’s important to choose a theme that is both desktop and mobile friendly. These days most of us are viewing content over the internet with our cell phones. Whatever theme you choose be sure to test it out for yourself. Browse your page and be sure that everything is clearly labeled and the reader is able to easily navigate from page to page.

Themeforest has thousands of templates and themes starting from just $2. Search through the ones that will work well with your niche and get started. There are many ways to pay, but the easiest is adding money to your account and making the purchase. If the theme you select cost $14 add $14 and checkout.  Themeforest is a great place for bloggers to find the perfect theme.

STEP #5 WRITE, WRITE AND WRITE SOME MORE

Growing an audience will not happen overnight. I wish it did! And it won’t happen without sharing consistent content for your readers to enjoy. It’s important to document as much as you can. You can blog once a week or once a day.  It doesn’t matter as long as you’re consistent. There are a lot of other factors that go into driving traffic to you site. Subscribe here and I will share tips that have worked for me and other popular blogs.

STEP #6 HAVE FUN!

The best bloggers are the ones that have fun with it. Have fun by blogging what you’re passionate about. Don’t overthink it and enjoy sharing and interacting with the blogging community. Follow the steps here and be patient as your popularity grows. Finding your niche and driving traffic to your site will allow you to make money while you blog, but it’s important to have fun with it first.

Who's in Charge of Our Happiness; Who Should Be?

I’ve never been one to do what the majority of people consider to be the right thing.  The more mainstream something may appear the greater chance that I’ll walk in the opposite direction.  Not always, but I’ve learned the importance of putting myself first.  Life is short, and at the end of it the only person who we need to answer to is ourselves.

WE DON’T OWE ANYBODY ANYTHING

I love to travel. Especially throughout the United States to experience different cultural views within our culture. I lived in Southern California for about a year. Talk about a subculture within a culture. There was such an amazing vibe there. From the always sunny weather to the always laid back people, it remains by far one of my favorite places  in the United States.

When my ex decided to book a flight back to the east coast for her and my daughter without telling me my life began to spiral out of control. That period of my life became one of my darkest, but it led to some of my greatest growth. I was working for a company which I didn’t want to leave without giving notice. My perception was quickly changed by a SoCal friend.

He was born in Mexico and moved to Los Angeles with his family when he was kid. He Married his wife from Columbia, and they moved south of LA into Riverside County to raise their three sons.  A month before my ex and daughter flew to NJ he received a phone call that no parent ever wants to get. One of his sons had passed away. He was only in his 20’s.

In his laid back Southern Californian/Mexican accent he said to me, “you don’t owe anybody anything.  Your daughter needs you. When you leave they’ll find someone else and the show will go on.” The next day my bags were packed and by midnight I was in my car driving back to NJ. The company I worked for didn’t crumble, and me leaving was soon just a dusty memory for them.

CHANGE IS POSSIBLE

We become very complacent in life. Our relationships, personal and work, become who we are. We believe without them our existence would be in jeopardy. We stay in situations that make us sad. That make us cry. That even make us believe we’re the crazy ones. We know deep down inside we should run and never look back, but we don’t.

Why?

Fear of the unknown. We fear what our life might be like on the other side of this darkness. We fear what the person/people who are disrupting our happiness might think about us. We live our lives more concerned with other peoples opinions than our own well-being. We stop caring about ourselves, and we make excuses for our unhappiness. Most of us spend our entire life doing this. Only to reflect and ask what if as we take our last breath.

WHO’S LIFE ARE WE LIVING

The longer we remain in a volatile situation the harder it is to get out, and the lesser the possibility comes for us to do the things we’re truly passionate about. We owe it to ourselves to change. We get one life. One shot to be friggen awesome. Why throw it all away for average?
Why settle for unhappiness?Blog_Settle

Happiness is a choice. So is it’s opposite. How we feel is entirely up to us. If we’re working at a job that makes us feel inadequate, we should find another job. If a romantic relationship is no longer feeling romantic, we should look to start a new one. Or better yet, try being single. Being single the past five years have been the most productive of my life.

We don’t need anyone or anything to make us happy.  Once this is realized, true happiness can be obtained.  It is possible, but we must first accept the fact that we are good enough for ourselves. We don’t owe anyone anything.  Walking away from a bad situation doesn’t define our lack of character, instead it reminds us that we are important.

Remember, with or without us, the show will go on.

Is there a situation that you stay in, because you’re afraid of what awaits you on the other side?
